Triticale ($3.50)

Cross between rye and wheat bred in the 19th century. Very hardy and high yielding. Excellent eaten as a whole grain.

Wren's Abruzzi Rye (Secale cereale) ($3.50)

Wren's Abruzzi Rye was developed in 1953 as an early winter rye with great production. Rye cover crop is excellent for erosion control, adding organic matter, enhancing soil life and for supressing weeds. Its extensive root system makes it among the best green manures for improving soil structure. It is a great soil renovator and pioneer crop for new fields. Rye is very good at releasing phosphorus and potassium. It also stabilizes excess soil and manure nitrogen. This rye is also good for animal grazing; it's highly palatable and of high nutritional quality, and comes back from grazing and grows again. Rapid establishment and growth.

Medawaska Buckwheat (Fagopyrum tartarica) ($3.50)

Plants grow to 5 feet and attract many beneficial insects. Good cover crop. Infusion made from the flowering tops is high in rutin, which combats the hardening of the veins and arteries.
