We are currently offering 5 varieties of Corn Seeds.
New, Country Gentleman (Zea mays) ($3.50)
A traditional open-pollinated sweet corn. Red-tinged ornamental plants grow remarkably tall (12 feet) if grown in rich soil. Kernels are uniquely arranged-no straight lines on these cobs.
New, Gaspe Flour Corn (Zea Mais) ($3.50)
This heritage corn from the Gaspe Peninsula did extremely well in 2009. Two medium-size cobs per plant. Very early.
New, True Gold ($3.50)
(Zea mays) Open-pollinated yellow corn. Mid-season. Larger cobs than Golden Bantam, with 12-14 rows of kernels per cob. Grows 6-8 feet tall, yields 2 cobs per stalk.
Golden Bantam Corn (Zea mays) ($3.50)
Not sugar-enhanced or the result of genetic tinkering. Produces two eight-inch cobs if well-fed and watered. Cook overmature ears, cut off kernels and dry them for winter soups.
Delight Sweet Corn (Zea mays) ($3.50)
An open-pollinated bi-colour ("peaches and cream") sweet corn, maturing about 5 days later than Golden Bantam. Cobs are about 6" long, with an average 12 rows of kernels.
