Hopi White Flour Corn (Zea mays) ($3.50)

This traditional flour corn from the American southwest is difficult to grow on the coast, as it needs 130 days to produce the 12" cobs of shiny white kernels. Best started indoors in pots.

Painted Mountain Flour Corn (Zea mays) ($3.50)

Painted Mountain is not a sweet corn. It is highly decorative, and is used for flour or for ceremony. A short season corn (about 110 days on the coast) on 4-foot plants. Some cobs are solid red; others are combinations of blue, white, yellow, orange and pink, some with burgundy husks. Beautiful looking cobs.

Golden Bantam Corn (Zea mays) ($3.50)

Famous heirloom with real corn flavour! Not sugar-enhanced or the result of genetic tinkering. Produces two eight-inch cobs if well-fed and watered. Cook overmature ears, cut off kernels and dry them for winter soups.

Delight Bi-Colour Sweet Corn (Zea mays) ($3.50)

An open-pollinated bi-colour "peaches and cream" sweet corn, maturing about 5 days later than Golden Bantam. Cobs are about 6" long, with an average 12 rows of kernels.
