New, Yellow Wonder Light ($3.50)

Bright, clear-yellow heirloom from Moscow. Mild, sweet flavour. Great for salads, sauce and catsup. Mid-season.

New, Rosabec ($3.50)

A Canadian heirloom. Round, medium-sized, soft pink/red colour. Balanced flavour, lower in acid. Produces well on strong, bushy plants, so makes an excellent field tomato.

Ailsa Craig ($3.50)

Famous and dependable heirloom. Prolific producer of early, medium-size red fruit of fine shape and flavour. From Scotland. Does well in maritime climates. Good greenhouse and container variety. 3 foot plants.

Black Prince ($3.50)

Good producer of dark purple 2-3 inch rich and fruity tomatoes. Pick when shoulders are still green. Seeds in thick gel. From Siberia.

Clear Pink ($3.50)

Russian heirloom. Deep pink, picture-perfect fruit. Rich sweet flavour. Could be called a small beefsteak. Tomato cage works well. Impressive and dependable.

Prolific bush type. Red fruit. Has rich tomato flavour. Meaty and juicy. A Canadian heirloom that does well in all conditions.

Peron ($3.50)

Bright red with a slight hint of pink colour, uniform round shape 3 to 4 inches across. Semi-determinate plants, good production starting mid season. The best way to describe the flavour is smooth. This is an excellent salad tomato and slicer. Rated 9 for flavour. Heirloom from Argentina.

Very early, then full-season producer of red, small-to-medium fruit on 3-5 ft plants. 2-3 inch fruit. 50 plus fruit on a plant. Meaty texture. Rich, complex flavour. Rare heirloom. Resistant to blossom end rot.

Famous for blight resistance and growing in cooler coastal conditions. Oval fruit. Indeterminate.

Slava ($3.50)

From the Czech Republic. Name means "glory" and it is a glorious one. Blight resistant.

Stupice ($3.50)

Czech heirloom. Vines to 4 feet. 3-6 oz fruit. Very good flavour. Thick skin, no cracking. Early tomato for cool weather. Good for drying. Potato leaf variety.

Apple of Novi Sad » a sanctuary seed ($3.50)

Beautiful red apple shape and colour with tender skins. Semi-determinate plant habit that starts producing mid-season and finishes well into the fall. Smooth texture with an ideal sugar/ acid balance for flavour. Has few seeds. Makes an excellent slicing and salad tomato. Grows very well in the greenhouse and outside. Rated 9 for flavour. Very rare. Originally from Serbia, this packet will be smaller.

Golden-orange, medium, round tomato. Meaty, sweet, subtle and full-bodied. 3 ft vines. Keeps well after picking. Good producer and early.

Tolerant of wet conditions. Beautiful deep yellow to golden colour, on very productive semi-determinate plants. Flavour is rich and fruity with some zest. Classed as a small slicer and very rare.This packet will be smaller

A small Beefsteak,with a deep pink/red colour. A complex, rich flavour. Thin skin makes an excellent slicer. Rare Russian heirloom. A highlight of 2009.

Our top greenhouse performer of 2008 and 2009. Family heirloom from Mike Stefancsik. 2 ounce red tomatoes of good flavour. Grows to over 10 feet and keeps producing huge numbers of fruit per plant.

Perfectly egg shaped, deep pink/ red colour, smooth texture. More to the acid side for flavour. Semi-determinate plants are super productive and keep for a long time on the plant and once picked. Good choice for the greenhouse. Rated 8 for flavour. American heirloom.

Bright red small fruit, famous for its very unique dense carrot-like foliage. Determinate plants produce very well and early. 2-3 feet. Texture is moist, skins are tender, and tomatoes have a very strong, lingering flavour. Excellent sandwich tomato and a favourite for cheesemelts. Rated 10 for flavour. Russian heirloom.

Sasha's Altai ($3.50)

A very rare heirloom discovered in the Altai Mountains, growing with the native people there.Small determinate plants, produce small slicer type fruit, average size, 2 inches across. Colour is bright red, and the flavour is unsurpassed, beyond compare.

Taxi ($3.50)

Determinate. Very productive yellow slicer about the size of a large lemon. The flavour is mild and lemon-like. Early and very dependable.

Salt Spring Sunrise ($3.50)

This famous local heirloom was developed on Salt Spring Island by the James Seed Company. It thrives in coastal conditions and hot dry summers. Fruit is red, with a slightly flattened shape, flavour is rich and balanced, and production is excellent, on medium-sized bushes.
