Brassica napus. A white-stemmed, flat leaf kale with frilly edges. The amount of leaf mass makes this an excellent production kale, especially for fresh eating in salads or smoothies. Seeds can be started in the early spring and then transplanted into the garden or kept in pots. A second batch can be started in July for fall/winter production. Plants can get very large if the leaves are allowed to reach full size so keep them harvested often or plant 18" apart. From Amara Farm, Courtenay.
