Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum)
Native to the Mediterranean. Aromatic foliage bears white flowers and aromatic foliage. Great for sprouts. Breaks up heavy clay soil, adding nitrogen and organic matter. Germinates in cold soils. Direct-seed late summer to early spring. Is used for diabetes and loss of appetite, and to stimulate milk production in breastfeeding women. It is also applied to the skin to treat inflammation. Seed is warming to the digestive tract. Absorbs toxins. Lowers cholesterol level in the bloodstream.
