Goldenberry/Cape Goosebery (Physalis peruviana)
Short lived perennial native to the Andes and cultivated since Incan times. Closely related to tomatillos and ground cherries, plants produce large amounts of tasty and nutritious, small, cherry sized yellow/orange fruits, loaded with seeds and vitamin A, C and B. Will grow in rich or marginal soils, often bearing more fruit in the latter! Start early and cultivate as per tomatoes.
