Collection: Sorghum Seeds

Sorghum is the world’s fifth most important cereal crop after rice, wheat, corn and barley. Though usually considered a hot-weather crop, some sorghum cultivars are easily grown in Canada. As a grain, it is gluten-free, protein-rich and high in fibre. It can be cooked like rice, popped like popcorn and ground into flour. It is drought tolerant but also can tolerate waterlogging.

In 2025, Salt Spring Seeds grew out two Sorghum cultivars obtained from Owen Bridge of Annapolis Seeds. We found them very striking and beautiful.
